My Story- Where it all began

I grew up in a big, hardworking family where everyone pitched in ;not because we had extra time, but because we needed it to make ends meet. My days started at 4am; I made and sold coconut oil. I did neighbors’ laundry for a few dollars. I sold pig parts from the butcher shed of pigs we raised, raised siblings while mom worked. That’s where I learned what it really means to show up for people who depend on you. It’s also where trust first became real to me; not as a word, but as something you build one small job, one kept promise, at a time.

Nothing about my path came easily. I supported myself straight out of high school, with some help from older siblings, as I found my way. I wanted to keep going, to get back to school, so I did while working.

I was rejected for job after job; no experience, no way in. So I volunteered for free, just to build something I could stand on. There was one job I applied for three times before they finally called me in. Not because of a perfect resume, but because I refused to quit knocking. That relentlessness is what got me through the door and it’s the same relentlessness I bring to every property I manage today. Accountability, to me, isn’t a policy. It’s refusing to let a problem sit, refusing to quit until it’s handled right.

Credentials didn’t build me. Determination did. Effort did. Sacrifice did. And if growing up taught me one thing, it’s this: the one thing that’s always yours is choice; how you live, what you do with what you’re given.

I found my footing in aquaculture, then tourism, then real estate; starting as a receptionist, climbing to office manager, and eventually landing in property management. My real training ground was Placencia, where I kept getting placed in roles I didn’t feel ready for. Every time, I proved myself wrong. I didn’t need more experience. I needed the challenge.

Then I brought everything I’d learnt to Hopkins; every skill, every lesson, every hard-won piece of experience and planted it there. That’s where I put everything into building Luxe Property Management from the ground up: my first venture into business ownership. No safety net, no blueprint. Just everything I’d learned, turned into something I’m proud of.

Along the way, I was still earning my degrees in the Sciences, diplomas in Real Estate and Hospitality & Tourism, and a certificate in Business Management all while working full-time.

Luxe was where I learned what it actually takes to run a company  the late nights, the hard calls, the mistakes I only got to make once. It was my practice ground, the thing that made me realize, I had what it takes. Everything it taught me is what I’ve since poured into building something bigger and fully my own.

I’m not who you’d expect to find running your property. I’m someone who’s failed, gotten back up, and learned to fail forward. That’s exactly why honesty and real hospitality aren’t things I perform they’re genuine, because I know firsthand what it costs to build something from nothing.

I refuse to take your trust for granted. I know what it costs to earn and that’s exactly what I aim to bring to Verra Belize Management, my 100% owned management company, when you make the choice to onboard with me.

Earned trust. Genuine care. Real accountability.
